Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Will you still be able to use 4.7 gb dvdr's with dvd-dl burners when they come out. Because most ps2 games are under 4.7 gb and I'll still want to use those dvd-r for games instead of wasting like another 4 gigs if I were to use a 8.5 gb dvdr.

I am still gonna wanna have the dvd-dl burner for movies though, so I can have full quality with menus and extras. So will Dvd-Dl writers be able to support 4.7 dvdr's?

PS2 v7
Magic 3.1
Gamecube (V. 26)
Cobra Bios 1.2
Lite-On LDW-411S

Icemonkey is correct, I own the Sony DRU-700A - here are the media specs:
DVD+R Double Layer: 2.4X ¹ max.
DVD-R: 1X, 2X, 4X, 8X (ZCLV) ³ max.
DVD-RW: 1X, 2X, 4X ³ max.
DVD+R: 2.4X, 4X ², 8X (ZCLV) ³ max.
DVD+RW: 2.4X, 4X ² max.
CD-R: 8X CLV, 16X, 24X P-CAV, 32X, 40X ³ max.
CD-RW: 4XCLV, 10X, 16X, 24X ZCLV ³ max.

¹Double Layer DVD+R media required
²Not supported with the bundled software, additional software required
³High-speed DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, CD-RW discs are required.

If you have DVD X Copy Gold or Platinum, you can get all the extras on one 4x DVD+ Disc (Providing it is all on one disc, and only for your DVD's you own, it is illegal to copy from a rental or borrowed.)
