Has anyone managed to get an external MP3-MP2 Encoder to work with Tmpg? If you you go into the options page and hover the mouse over the External Decoder option it lists compatible Progs and .DLL's.

I tried all of them and still didn't get any sound after the Conversion? I have a really problematic DivX file, did my usual method of extracting to .WAV with virtualDub and then encoding that to MP2 - that has worked on every file I have done up till now. This one is WAY out of synch! So I really need to get Tmpg doing the encoding.

Any suggestions. I can get round it, but it would be useful to just get Tmpg doing it.

when you load up the file to vdub, did it said anything ? such as vbr audio detected ?if yes that is the problem, try vdubmod.

but sometimes the decoder messed up the cbr too, you can demux it and decode to wav with an audio encoder programme, i use dbpoweramp. and load up in tmpgenc.

besweet is the best i known, and headac3he.

It very often gives this error - something like - Detected a none standard VBR there will be a ******ms offset in sound (Along those lines). Normally I just do it anyway and it doesn't cause any problems. But this one is a good 5-7 seconds delayed!

I mean I know there will be ways around it, it would just be cool if I could get an external Decoder to do the MP3-MP2 via TmpgEnc - and more convenient.

It's the fact that in the options it states this can be done and lists several utils that can do it, and I couldn't get any of them to work.

I will give the DeMux a go - I have headac3he installed so I can use that.

HI I THINK THE ONLY THING THAN YOU HAVE TO DO IS IN THE OUTPUT FILE NAME CLICK BROWSE AN WRITE A NAME LIKE WHITE FLAG DIDO AND THEN PUT A LITTLE POINT LIKE THIS . AND ADD mp3 SO YOUR FILE NAME WILL BE
WHITE FLAG DIDO.mp3 THIS WAY YOUR SONG WILL BE SAVED AN THE MP3 FORMAT. WORKS IN CERTAINS FILES SPECIALLY IF YOUR SONGS ARE IN MPEG FORMAT. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND I DONT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THAT. IF THIS DOESTN WORK TRY TO FIND THE MP3.DLL SOMEWHERE MAYBE YOU CAN FIND A WAY TO USE IT.
