Ok guys sorry to bother you but I seriously messed up my WMP9.0b.
I've spent the last three days installing and uninstalling codecs includding the following.
Divx, Fddshow, Gspot, Xvid and a few others too. The funny thing was... that I had everything working fine. I can see the first frame of the video when it's in thumbnail mode in windows but when I open the file the video goes blank. It's also odd because the exact video size is outlined. Meaning windows is reading the video size just not playing the frames.

Is there any simple instructions for killing everything and starting over? I mean if I uninstall everything I'm not gonna permanently break it am I? And can I uninstall and reinstall wmp9.0b?

I'm sure there are other posts like this but the forum search is down atm. So sorry about the post.

I did this on my gf's computer too. And I had to leave so I'm not even at her house to fix it anymore. So I need to type out instructions that will be easy enough for her to follow. (she's fairly computer literate. Thank god! haha)

    Also system specs are
    2.8P4 with HT
    512ram
    160gig's
    radeon 9200.

    Thanks much! =)

    hmm,

should be, you need to tweak something in WMP.

but i have a better solution, ditch that and get media player classic, its so simple its hard to mess up.

Well if you guys aren't using WMP to watch vids then what are you using? I've been using WMP on my home system for like 2 years without issues. I'm on vacation up in DC and got to visit my girl. So it's funny that's when I screwed up her computer. Which didn't matter so much but now it has no video whatsoever. And I would like to be able to send her some DV clips.

    What kinda reg cleaner?
