I like most people are having major problems with the dvd burning i am using Record now and ill go to make a copy of a dvd then after it has copied the dvd it will ask to put in a blank dvd recordable cd. I put in a Blank DVD+R and then it comes up with an error and says enter in a blank dvdr. Do u think this is one of the defective ones that i should call HP about or do u think i can do something else to get this to work. I am new to buring DVD's can we use DVD-R? i am not sure what the diff is on them. Thank you for all your help

I would not agree that most people have problems with DVD burning.

If you do your homework - read the guides - keep your machine lean and mean and use appropriate software you will not have any major problems.

Have been burning successfully without problems since installing first burner in January - spent a week or so previously exploring this and other forums for guides and solutions that worked.

A successfull software combination for reliable/quality burning is DVD Shrink, DVD Decyrpter and Nero.

    Use quality DVD media.

Do not use Roxio products in combination with Nero.

Do not use labels on burnt DVD's

Follow the advice of the more experienced and regular contributions to these forums.

Proceed slowly, learn before you leap.

Learn to post to appropriate forums - DVD not CD for DVD problems
