Swap Magic 3 - CD Vesion Problem !!!!!

Ok. This is my first time using the cd version of the swap magic because the rest of the games ive been playing only need the dvd version. When i put the disc in my flip-top it reads as a disc error. Is something just wrong with the disc or something else. THe dvd version works great but the cd version wont start up and its my first time using it.

Do you have a version 9 or 10 ps2? If so that's the reason becuase the Swap Magic 3 doesn't work on ps2 version 9/10. The Swap Magic 3.2 does though.

ok i got it to work now...which option do i pick? normal boot or special boot and do i insert my backup here? i thought there was suppose to be a insert disc screen like the swap dvd verstion has

When i select special boot for swap magic 3.0 it says please insert ps2 disk...?? but if i select normal boot it loads the game and freezes on the first loading screen can.. what is wrong?

I have a V 4 ps2...when i boot ps2 cd games...
1. insert SM cd
2. Cd stops spinnin...Load screen is shown
3. switch SM cd with back up cd.(fliptop)
4. Press square
it works for me. when i use normal boot...it doesnt work.
i dont know about other verisons.

if your game doesnt boot then it must be your disc...what media are you using ...and what program are you burning it with..
i use Nero with CD games.

im using memorex discs. should i try something else like verbetim(sp)

Hi There,
I have the swap magic cd 3 and I have never got it to successfully boot up. My PS2 is a version 7. Is it not compatible with this version? Has anyone else got a version 7 to work with SM3 cd. If it isn't compatible is there a version out there that is and where can I get it from.

It doesn't do anything, it just wont load it goes straight to the browser screen, just like if you turned your PS2 on with no disk in it.
It does it everytime. However the SM2DVD is fine.
What do you think could be the problem then?

could be a faulty swapmagic cd,if you have not had it long try contacting your supplier and see if they will swap it for you also if you have got a mate localy with a ps2 see if they will let you try the disc in there ps2 to see if it will load

Sorry Devilhunt, I got it wrong. For some time now I haven't tried using the SMcd3 as I was getting this problem. (I don't know why) but last night I tried booting off it and it worked!!! - It takes a lot longer than the SMdvd2 ver to load but it loaded.
So ignore my last post, my question is what are the recommended steps to load a backup cd after booting from the Swap magic cd3. Do you still need to load a TOC disc?

if its a 1:1 backup of an orignal ps2 cd based game then you should not need a toc disc just a straight swap and press x,if its a dvd rip over 630mb approx then you might need a toc disc also be aware that there a few cd based games that need cd loader to boot(have double check)

my ps2 is V9 and I just brought the swap magic 3 with slide card. The problem is the ps2 could load the game in first few minutes, then it just frozn. I use Alchol to burn, use high quality CD-R - TDK, and burned it with lowest speed- 4x. But the game just frozn.
And I want to know whats the function for "special booting" with swap magic 3. It never works.

I need help I am not having luck with swap magic 3 cd or dvd. I am trying to load hdloder cracked ver. Swap magic offers me option ofr load program and video setting. There is no offer for special loading. After card swap method when I load the cdr it freeze shoiwn www magic3 logo and stars in th ebackground. Please help I have ver 9. I just got the cd from gocybershop. I have tried Nero, DVD Decrypter and wasted probably 10-12 cds and two dvds. Please help.

i'm also having problems with the smd cd 3.0 and i have a v7 ps2. one day i decided to burn cd formated games using Nero 5 at 4x because it's the lowest i could use. i burned final fantasy 7 (ps1) all 3 discs and they all work i then burned nba street ball (ps2) using the same proccess, when booting it up with smd cd3.0 i got the red bloody color which i know it is a bad burn, under the same process my ps1 games have worked but my ps2 games didn't when burning them in the same process and i use sony cd-r discs.
v7 ps2 no mods
boot ps2 cd with smcd3.0
boot ps2 dvd with smdvd2.0

Hey i just got the Swap Magic 3.0 set and im having a few problems, Every time i boot a CD (not DVD) Game these little lines start to flicker around the edges of my TV. And the screen goes red and it will not boot. The game is called Winning Eleven 8 (PES4) AND IT WILL NOT BOOT, ADVICE PLEASE BECAUSE I RELLY NEED THE HELP!
