   I have a few backups saved to avi and xvid how can i burn to svcd(jus point me in the right directions..thanx)...also is there a way to reencode the audio to dolby digital or dts 5.1 or 6.1...sorry for the noob questions

   For more info on encoding to (S)VCD with TMPGEnc: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43085 As for the AC3, if you are working with stereo, sure you can pass it up to AC3 but it wont be real AC3 since you are just "filling" in the missing channels using the same data.
