Try using the custom settings instead of automatic (so you have to specify the IP Address etc).

i was wondering does the version on your psp matter for internet use?

not really all psps have wifi which means they all are capable of connecting to the internet, its just how they connect.
1.5 PSPs dont have the built in web browser so users must install their own third party browsers thats been ripped from games such as fired up or the new links browser.
2.0 psps have built in browsers so you can surft the net just by going to the browser no need to install anything else.

can u guys please help me i got into the site called pspwebsites and then i make links and everything but whenever i click on something or try to go yahoo or somewhere else it takes me back to pspweb homepage everytime whatz wrong i mean really tho????please help ty

I got a PSP a while ago and ive been trying to connect to the internet.. I have a linksys router with adelphia high speed internet, can i connect through that? i tryed the steps at the beginning but when i test the connection it says "a connection error has occured. a connection to the access point could not be established. check the security settings for the network and try again." i know the directions are pretty self explanatory but i have no idea where to 'check the security settings' or if im doing something wrong..... please help!

What firmware PSP do you have?
PSPs with firmware 1.5 can not use access points that use WPA encryption. Go to your router config and change the encryption to WEP.
Also you may be too far from the router.

umm what about mines i got a 1.5 im using the pspweb sites and um im going through the wipeout thing i wish it would let me go to other sites im only stuck on one page

i got it on wlan on your psp?? the switch on the left side i wonder if thats want you mean hopefully you got a wireless router and if you got that wep thing you might want to enter your password on it too

Hello Everyone.
I've tried to connect my PSP to the internet (browser) for quite a long time now. I have done everything that it says on this website. Every single time that I've tried to connect my PSP, it always sayd:
Communication With Server Failed.
A DNS error has occured.
(8041040F)
Why does that pops up everytime?
and after that in the network Setting the summary says:
Connection name: bla-bla (my own words)
Signal Strength: 100%
SSID: bla-bla (my own words)
BSSID: bla-bla (my own words)
Channel: 8
Security: None
Ip address: bla-bla (my own words)
Subnet Mask: bla-bla (my own words)
Default Router 0.0.0.0.
Primary DNS; bla-bla (my own words)
Secondary DNS: bla-bla (my own words)
Mac address: bla-bla (my own words)
Proxy Server: Do Not Use
Internet Browser: Start
Internet Connection: FAILED
Pleeease, could anyone help me out???
What is a wep key and where do i find it?
I have tried everything e.g. accesing the router, etc, etc, etc....
Who can i contact to sort this problem out???
People advise me please...

I TRIED THAT BUT MINE KEEPS SAYING IT CANT CONNECT TO THE ACSEES POINT AND THETS MY ONLY PROBLEM TO GETTING INTERNET ON MY PSP
