PSP 3.30 OE-A
Launch 1.5 PSP
Using a GAME UMD.
1)Downloaded USBMount V1.03
2)Copied seplugins folder to root.
3)Went to recovery mode, enabled plugins in correct order.
(Disabled NO-UMD)
4)Returned to XMB turned off UMD Auto-Start.
5)Downloaded and installed PSPHost 1.8
(PSPHost 2.0 kept on giving me error message about usbhost not working)
6)Rebooted PSP.
(not sleep mode)
7)From XMB pressed select then chaged settings like you said.
8)Went to file location and it says "No Isos/files here."
9)Then about 10 seconds later while moving around in XMB the PSP freezes.
10)It required pulling the battery out.
11)Upon restart PSP still froze.
12)So I went to recovery mode, enabled USB deleted plugins from the seplugins folder.
13)PSP works fine now.
-So yeah theres my problem, I cant get this too work, help please.
Hey steve, the PSP freezes because the program failed to load the game properly. The PSP won't freeze if you take out any UMD from the drive. To fix it, go to a normal USB connection then go into the seplugins folder and open the INI file (in wordpad). There will be a string at the top like:
BOOT=c:\pspgames\iso\!notbefoud!.iso
something like that....delete everything after BOOT= so it looks like:
BOOT=
The psp won't freeze anymore
Check you setting is PSPHost....you have to choose the folder to share to be the one containing the ISO FOLDER (not the files). i.e.
My ISOs are in C:\games\PSP Games\ISOs
so in USBhost is share the folder:
C:\games\PSP Games\
Then it should find your PSP games.

Still doesnt work, I did delete the text.
It still said files not found.
So then I put in a UMD disc and it froze
Im looking at it frozen on the menu right now lol.
EDIT: now that i restarted it, then menu doesnt come up when I press select. Im guessing if I put in the UMD it will come up, but then freeze.
EDIT:Just put the umd in and it froze again.

Take out the UMD. Go into recovery mode. Disable the plugins, exit recovery and go to USB mode. Take out the text again in the INI file.
Restart the PSP. Go to recovery mode and enable the plugins. Check the settings in recovery mode are all correct according to ThisDude.
Restart the PSP with UMD in the drive, wait for it to load. It should not freeze. Press select the menu should come up.
Check your settings for PSPHost. What folder are you sharing? Check that the drivers for the PSP were installed correctly. Do you hear the noise in windows to say that the a USB device has connected?
Each time the PSP freezes you have to remove the text from the INI file and disable/re-enable the plugins. This program is BUGGY ;)
Let me know how you do....

Hey steve,
yeah i think the problem is that you are storing your ISOs in a folder called ISOs. They must be in a folder called just ISO (get rid of the s ;)..) Also i don't get that error that you get in PSPHost. When you change the settings on PSPhost, close it and open it again and see if the settings that you changed are still there.
Other than that your fine!

Hi y´all.
I thought that you might want to know that this PRX works beautifully under the 3.40 OE-A (No other plugins active, no-umd Off).
Also, and compared to 3.03 OE-B (my previous firmware) I have to say that it runs much more better (less buggy). It seems pretty stable.
========
Regards, Wakaru

This guide is really very detailed but I'm having a bit of a problem with usbhost2.0. In Windows whenever I enable USB at program start and hit ok my PC just freezes? I have no clue why it does this I don't know if it's a problem with my PC or the software. Any help would be great. I may try this on my laptop and see if the same thing happens.

Great detailed post.... I appreciate all the hard work nice one Dudes.... Now if someone could just figure a way around the mem stick 4 gb limit and play games directly from a portable usb hard drive (much more space, much cheaper) without a computer needed you really would have something Great in the works...... Guys your almost there ....so close but so far....
Let me know if this ever happens...

I have PSP type B installed. I remember the first time I plugged in my usb cable it said PSP type B in the lower right corner but after that it never said anything about it. I still am not sure what the problem is.

Great guide! I'm stuck at an unusual place... when I install psphost v 1.8 or 2.0 and try to run it i get the error:
System Error &H8007041D (-2147023843). The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Is there a way to fix this? and does anyone at least know the name of the service psphost uses? Thanks.

No, OS is the "Operating System" of your PC. Ex. Windows Vista, XP etc. Not the PSP's firmware version.

Try an older version. Something like 1.8.
