it seems to be workin perfect, when you press ok on your remote it tells you what is on and stuff, i bought my box of mark so i know its genuine, i dont know about fake boxes though...the site has only just started up though, i think its one of wizards sellers , somebody on ebay recommended it to me, but saying that its working perfect....

Only problem I have with all these versions coming out is I have no idea where they are from, with all the problems with dodgy boxs etc and that someone designed a firmware version that damaged cloned boxs then how do we know that this is not a version designed to damage genuine boxs that has come from a dodgy source?
I bet there are a few companies that would like to do something like that just to get rid of us!
Until Wizard puts it on his site then I for one will hang on just to make sure.

there is no such thing as version301 as it hasn't been released yet. just somebody renaming version300 and trying to cause hassle for people.

tested this file. still causing the channels to freeze. I think somebody renamed ver300 and put it up as ver301. Hope this helps mate.

1st The file is a 1:1 Copy of the 300 API
2nd @demonworm It doesn't matter about the size, all the firmwares are 768 KB (786,688 bytes)

I think you will find that the earlier firmwares like 257 are different.

I know this has already been said but I would like to confirm the 2 files, official 300 and this apparent new 301 are exactly the same file.
Not only are they the same file size (this is very common with ROM updates and often NOT an indication that files are identical) but also the content of the files are exactly the same (after doing a quick hash compare and visual difference check).
The firmware appears to have been compiled up on the 27th May local time where ever these files are built (based on the embedded date strings in the files). If people are finding this so called 301 better then 300 then there are other factors at work as its exactly the same thing ;).

*view box working in Glasgow area. First step was to check that the box was genuine first, used posted pics that were most informative and easy to use. Loaded 300v version and went through normal process but still did not receive channels....kept going through auto update process. My problem was, don't know if anyone else experienced this but just in case.....opted for Tel*pest provider and keys updated but no success. Had to change KEY NUMBER from 01 to 00, saved it by pressing OK then flicked back and instant success.

I need some major help with my starview box, I had updated to the 300 bin file. It has been working for a week or so now- but have been getting these "bad channel, or scrambled channel" on some channels (every so often).
So I put the 257 bin file on my box because that was the bin file which was previously installed and I had no problems with the channels coming off occasionally.
Now nothing comes on my TV screen and I see a yellow led light moving from one side of the black panel to the other side of the panel. (I can't even get into menu or anything)
It said it was successful when I installed the bin file.
Can you guys please help me revive my box?
Would updating to the 301 bin file fix my box?
-Simon

Haha, I got it working! :)
After flashing to the 3.01 bin file, i've been directed to the main menu of the box. (YES!)

flashing 301 would make no difference as its just the same as 300, someone has renamed it!
