thats because I'm going all sata optical drives. with what I'm doing the sata drives are my best option. the IDE optical drives produce to much heat running all three at once causing to much slow down after about the second run
i honest think the px-716 is irreplaceable.
actually i thing the PX-810SA will be good drives we will see in about 6 months or tourer lol,Getting them this Sat.
how did you know it died?? did it just wont burned anymore or
what??
yup, will not even start up , its dead believe me lol

If you're gonna do SATA interface I would do the Lite-on LH-20A1S if you don't care about LS capabilities. If you need LS then the Lite-on LH-20A1L. This is assuming you are gonna stay with the Lite-on brand. I don't have much experience outside of that. I have a Samsung, LG, and 2 Sony NEC Optiarc's coming but I haven't done anything with them yet. From what I've read and what zebadee has said the Sammy is your best bet for speed ATM. You might do some reading and see what you come up with but that's my 2 cents. :D
On TY's for speed. Either of the +-R's will do in the 16X version. I haven't used the YUDEN000T03 ( DVD+R 16X Taiyo Yuden) yet but I'm sure they are dang good. Cincyrob and Hobbitt have used a few, hopefully they will say something positive. :) The TYG03 ( DVD-R 16X Taiyo Yuden) I've used plenty of and they perform just fine. You can smoke them babies out at 16X all day long with a clean and smooth system. I've done a few and the worst QS I've gotten w/o me messing up the burn is a 84 I think. I've seen some of these people get 93's and 95's on a consistent basis. (ooops other forum but you know what I meant)

You might have me confused with HOBBITT. He has the LS capable drive not me. For some reason it doesn't interest me. The discs are a little higher and the image doesn't look all that great to me. NOW printable discs on the other hand are really cool. ME friends cincyrob and hobbitt have a disc printer friendly device and I've seen the outcome. It's SWEET to say the least. :)
