tripplite thanks for all the help btw. I decide to go with another program called imgburn instead of clone cd cause im running Vista(just to take ur advice) and it actually worked out fine. But would u have any experience using that program?
I want to create a copy of a game i already have burned but dont have it saved on my computer. Any advice? I tried using clone cd to straight burn but not luck.
Oh a side note do i have to change any setting for when the disc is being read on a copy? Also do i have to change any setting on clone cd for when i want to burn a .dvd file besides burn at 2x-2.4x? Thanks

Will Verbatim DVD+R DL work or you need -R? What's the difference between both btw?

ARG GOOD THING YE ASKED!
only use DVD+R DL,
nothing else will work!
Quote:
-R DL must be recorded equally on both sides - thus killing the ability to set a layer-break.

Tripplite,a couple more questions if you don't mind.Do you recommend
XdvdMulletor or any program like it? Also what newsgroup ect do you think is good? I got the Singapopre Verbatim DVD+D DL, and am about ready to light a match to this...thanks.

(you need the adobe reader plugin to view this)
that should be fine, the best part about is that it extracts the ss files for you so no sweat on patching or any of that crap, its probably the easiest and best way to backup!

imgburn=da best freeware
you cant just strait up copy it, if you do this the security sectors (ss) are lost and without them the xbox360 cant read the game, back up the game then re-burn, use XDVDmulleter to backup, its easy and i posted a guide to it above (it extracts the ss files for you so there is no need to patch) , as for games that come un-patched follow this guide obviously for patching them

thats what the entire ixtreme firmware is about, allowing you to play backups without being caught:) unfortunately there is still a chance of being caught and once banned you can never join the live community again......they're are modchips that allow you to switch between 2 firmwares, so when you want to go on live you flash back to your original firmware and alls fine, then when its time to play your backups you switch again to your ixtreme:)

But I have read that MS checkes the DVD disc, not the firmware. So if you are playing with a modified firmware, but with an original game, there should be no problem.
[offtopic]Does someone know if you got more chance getting banned if I use the 8x drive speed of the modified firmware than the normal speed (12x)?[/offtopic]

but rumors say that Microsoft can check your console for modded firmware if you have a gold subscription and your console is connected to the internet...even if you not playing on live at the time....but i dont believe the rumors as it goes against the science of the entire thing!
Quote:to be blunt its a cat and mouse game.....some scans will pick up modded consoles ....other wont:(

As far as playing offline, yes, they can still check (then send that info back to their servers the next time you login).
If you don't wanna risk being banned, don play backups online. It's that simple.
Also, dvd firmware chips are a joke...save your money & time and buy some more media.

I'm new to this
I have just modded my 360 with Xtreme firmware
I want to start burning some games and I am torrenting Halo 3.
How do I find stuff with the iso format? And do the disks have to be DVD+R DL? Also, that link "http://www.ubclass.org/X360SS/sslist.htm" in the tutorial goes to some random site with nothing to do with xboxes... I don't know if that's where I'm getting lost.
Please help.

Tripplite, My 360 has the ixtreme stealth flash, and I'm using a newsgroup for my downloads, ran it through xDVDMulleter, burned with CloneCD, used Verbatim DVD+D DL Singapore, and a 2 year old Sony external DL burner (I'm at work but I think it's the DRU-810?)...and XDVDMulleter / CloneCD gave me the green light but I've made two coasters so far (360 dirty disc error) is it the burner? Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Tripplite, after reading that link on bit setting (thanks!) I don't think I'm going to be able to use my external Sony DRU-830A....It doesn't look like Sony supports bit setting...there was no Sony tab in imgburn also...I'm trying a external Pioneer 112 right now, is there any problem using external drives in general? Thanks.
