Sup, guys? Real quick, I tried to make Avalaunch my primary, instead of EvoX. Changed the xboxdash.xbe file to evox.xbe...DUHHHHH!!! I also FTP'ed Avalaunch files to C: drive on my XBox. Tried to reboot, didn't work. I'm getting error 13.

I think I know how to fix it. Because I don't have EvoX booting up--or anything else for that matter--I can't FTP my way into the XBox and change the files. I think I can just boot EvoX from a disc, FTP in, and change my new "evox.xbe" file back to "xboxdash.xbe" and I should be good to go, right?

Problem is, I'm having a b#tch of a time burning myself a boot disc. I've used nero 6, cd-rw and dvd+rw media, xISO, another ISO program I can't think of right now, and a Sony DRU500-AX burner. I've read the threads and followed the tutorials on xbox-scene.com, xbox hq, etc. Still nothing.

What do I do?!?!?! Do I have to have the IP settings from my XBox to burn a working copy of EvoX? If so, I know my IP address, DNS1, DNS2, Default Gateway, etc. but I don't know the other number. I know there's one more. Is this necessary to burn a working disc? Please help. Thanks!!!

BTW, smart-asses need not respond. I'm tired of geekier-than-thou rude people answering my threads with smart comments, offering no help. Please. I'm a nice guy in need of help. You be nice too. Thanks again.

No, you don't need the ip addresses from your current setup in order to burn evox to disc. When you get a working disc, you can simply check the address settings in evox and adjust your computer to accomodate the evox settings.
But, when you get evox to boot from disc, you should be able to fix all from your xbox using boxplorer (or any other file manager, provided you have one on the hd of course).
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure your using compatable media (we've all heard how picky xbox dvd drives can be), and to make sure your burning the iso as an image. I've noticed that that seems to be one of the most common mistakes made when burning.
btw, the other address you may be thinking of is sntp. Just a time protocal for clock sync. Not necessary at all.

oh, and if you're trying to make avalaunch your primary, make the changes in you bios rather than moving and renaming files. It's much cleaner and easier and you don't usually run into these types of problems. btw, what chip are your using?

Thanks for the reply, Liquid. Currently using Xecuter 2.3B Lite+, the solderless one. It's been working great, as far as I can tell.

Okay. I don't have boxplorer installed. I have dvd2xbox, avalaunch, and hddloader, and that's all I remember. I still don't really know what HDDLoader is all about or what it's used for.

Shouldn't I be able to FTP into the xbox using FlashFXP once I have the disc working? I think the files should still be there, right?

My main problem is getting the disc burned. I've tried, like, 4 times and have had no success. When you say burn it as an image, do you mean like a picture? I've created an ISO image, but somehow I think that's not what you mean. I'm gonna look in Nero 6 again and see if I can tell what you're talking about.

It'd probably be easier for you to pm me, or just email me at baptzmoffire@hotmail.com

Thanks again!!! I sincerely appreciate the help, and I'm gonna try what you said to do, right now.

make an evoX "boot" disc just like batizm is doing. that'll boot evoX and allow you to ftp in and fix your mistakes.
