Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Read more about the update and let us know what you think!

opening my ps2

#1 28 Jun 2004 @ 10:19
i just opened my ps2 to install a flip top cover. Every guide I read told me to be careful of the delicate wire that joins the cover to the base. I accidentally took the wire out. It didn't rip, but it came out. Any help on putting it back in because there are no signs of tear anywhere??? Also does anyone know what the wire is for???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks

that cable joins the reset/eject button to the main board, which end did it come awy from? the case end or main board. if it was from the main board it's a bit tricky, you will need to remove the screws that hold down the dvd tray and, holding the end of the ps2 where the cable came from lift the oposite side of the dvd tray up and towards yourself, so you don't pull out or damage the cable that runs from underneath the tray to the main board, then next to where that cable plugs in is a slot for the your cable.

if it has come from the other end then you have to remove the reset/eject buttons anyway to fit in your flip top, when you take them out you will see where it goes.
