    If you backed up the hard drive (like you should have) then just make an evoX HD exchange disk, format the new hard drive when you plug it into your xbox, then make an evoX boot disk and transfer all your old files over.

    Ya, if he backed up his old hard drive.

    He has to format the new hard drive with an evoX Hard Drive Xchange Disk (make it yourself), then use a boot disk, and drag and drop.

    Why do you need a boot disk?

    as long as you installed EvolutionX on the original and backed up the original hdd onto your computer , your fine. you need to make a evox boot disk as follows: take the "backup" folder from the original hdd (in your case the copy on your computer) and copy the five files in it (bios, disk, hddinfo, hddkey, eeprom) and send those to a new folder. send your default.xbe from evox to the same folder. now you'll have to reconfigure your evox.ini to make a boot disk. change it as follows:

    [Menu]

    Section "Install Menu"
    {
    Item "Install New drive",@210
    Item "MS Dashboard",@3
    Item "Reboot",@5
    Item "Power Off",@10
    }

    {Action_ 10}
    Info "Install HDD"
    Warning "This will format all drives"
    Warning "Make sure you have a backup of C & E"
    Progress "Formatting drives"

    ConfigSector "\backup\disk.bin"
    Format c:
    Format e:
    Format f:
    Format x:
    Format y:
    Format z:

    Now that you've done that, send the new .ini to the new folder. make an xiso like you did for the original disk and burn the image. this will allow you to ftp your old C: and E: drive with EvoX to the new hdd :)

    First off a 40GB hard drive suxs. Each Xbox game is roughly 2-3GB's so that averages to 13 stored games on a 40GB HD. U might as well get a 120 or 160GB. Sams has 160GB HD's for $99 right now which isnt bad at all. IF u want step by steb instructions then use this web site: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/open1.php
    just keep following these instructions and it shows u what screws to unscrew and so on.
