I would like to hook my two stereo speakers up to my TV, they are the speakers that come with the 5-cd CD players. The CD player broke, but I would still like to use the speakers. The speakers have two wires coming out of them, each. One wire is red and the other is black. Is there any way I can hook them up to my TV (without buying a ton of equitment)? I appologize if this topic is in the wrong forum area, and if this has been covered before. I tried to use the search but all it would do was say "only words with 3 or more letters will be searched" and did nothing else. Thanks
I could take pictures of the cords, speakers, tv, ect. if that would help(although someone would have to tell me how to upload them, sorry, i'm a newbie)
Your TV probably has line-level (RCA-style) outputs, that are not amplified and will not drive your speakers directly. But if your speakers are self-amplified (you know, like little PC speakers) then you will just need to wire 'em up to RCA plugs and away you go The outputs on a PC are the same, but use 3.5mm stereo mini-plug (like a walkman) instead of RCA. Is there a connector on the speaker wires at this time? If they are bare wires then you are gonna need some kind of amplification. Yeah, they are just bare wires. i think one wire is power (it says maximum 300v and stuff on it)and the other is the actual sound cord. The TV doesn't have the 3-cord things in the back(red, yellow and white), so i have an adapter that has the three things so i can hook up other stuff(xbox etc.)
