    got a problem...
    I was encoding a dvd 2 divx 5.1.1, 2 passes
when the first pass was complete virtualdubmod crashed on me...
    now I've got these files.:

    movie.avs
    movie.log
    movie_firstpass.settings
    movie_GKnot.log
    movie_Movie.avi
    movie_secondpass.settings
    vdenc.log
    VIDEO_TS.d2v

and all the original vob files and the ifo file

can I recover the files and start the second pass immediatly, if so how should I do this, or do I have to start all over???

    thx

    Oh yeah, GKnot_log (duh)
Yes it will do second-pass only, select 'nth pass' and passes=2, if a valid log is present it will jump right into the second pass.
Is this crash rare, or common? Often happens in summer not winter, so is heat-related: if your room goes from 20degrees to 26, then your CPU can go from 58degrees to 64 or whatever, that it's not seeing in winter, y'know?
    Anyway good luck,

vdubmod is quite buggy, if ou're using 1.5.10 try one of the bugfix released. its b0rked

otherwise the latest stable version is 1.5.4

or use the original avery lee's vdub

    No :)
I have found that you must open the *.d2v every time (and save a new *.avs overtop) so that you get the video overlay in GKnot. You can't open the AVS, it just frameserves, you must open the D2V.
