It appears that DVD Cloner 2, as so highly rated on this link below, has the same transcoding engine as DVD Shrink.

If anyones interested they can read links, concerning this issue here :-

The "publisher" of this "software" is based here :-

For all who have purchased this effort, you have my sympathies.

Thanks for posting this. It should serve as a warning to anyone who's considering buying the product. It seems like everytime something good and free comes along there's a den of thieves not far behind wanting to profit from it by ripping off the unwary.

astute observation, that's probably one of the very few I haven't bought in my quest for the best, easiest, quickest, and cheapest video software. Good call B-100

Ditto said the lurking bear. Seems there are a lot of thieves just assembling bundles of freeware and selling them to the unsuspecting public. I'd say a lot of novices don't even know they've been scammed.

What a crock, they listed cloner at 4 star, dvdcopy2 at 3 star, and IC8 at 2 star. Their prices were inflated also, IC8 at 40.00(can get it for 25.00)and cloner for 60.00. Imagine shrink for 60 bucks! Oh the terribleness and horribleness (ghost and mr. chicken) of it all.

And if you trust Eagletronics you can get Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD 8.0, which includes instant copy for $8.95.

Thanks for your sympathies. If DVD cloner ll were any easier to use I think that I'd fall asleep using it. I've burned over 30, flawlessly. Press one button and walk away, how can you go wrong. I guess some people will always have problems with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they own. That's life.

Everytime I burned with shrink it was flawless also, if by flawless you mean they were error free. Guess what, I didn't pay a dime for it!

By spending hard earned cash on software that has been stolen from others. Every "plug" for DVDcloner is a kick in the teeth for ALL independant software developers. Result : Everyone loses out.

How ironic "Pirates stealing from "Pirates. Sometimes it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad.

That statement says nothing about us, however it says quite a bit about yourself! A self proclamation as it were. Shades of sykes, could it be..... a new handle?...... Nahhhhh......yet, so familiar.....hmmmmmm......

Don't pursue this area of discussion, your argument is about a piece of software not the Holy Grail. Someone else made its compression engine for free and if there's money to be made from this work then the author of Shrink should get it, he did all the work.

    1. Independent software developers are not necessarily thieves.

    2. Being a member of a discussion forum does not make one a thief.

    3. Taking another person's property is theft.

    4. Calling everyone a thief is questionable behavior.

    5. Defending thieves is questionable.

    6. Supporting thieves is questionable.

    7. DVD Cloner = DVD Shrink; DVD Shrink is free therefore DVD Cloner should be free. (sorta get the comparison)

    8. Taking someone's money for a free item is theft.

    9. Sort of easy to tell the bad guy, he's the one ripping you off.

    10. Trying to start an argument over no reason is shades of S-Y-K-E-S.

Dvd Shrink is free, but I understand you need the payed version of Nero to use it. Correct me if I'm wrong?
