Hi all, my xbox was working ok yeterday and then i opened it up 2 put in the original hdd which has no data on and is unlocked. I put it all together and it came on but then went onto the xbox needs servicing error 16. so i took the hdd out and put my other 1 in which also had nothing on cause i formatted it. Tried that and still the same thing. Then i had a look at the chip, i think it is an xecuter 2 but the diagrams to install it dont look like my modchip, mine is soldered directly to the LPC and has a patch wire from the do to the c7c4 but where it says microsoft it did say xecuter, i also noticed that the wire to the do had came off and i am rubbish at soldering so i just held it there and turned my box on, the servicing error went off and i got error 16 no dashboard found, this is because there is nothing on the hdd but i had slayers auto installer in the dvd drive and it didnt boot from it. When i formatted the hdd yesterday and put slayers in to put the dashboard on to test it, it worked and then i formatted again. I dont know what to do now, i can get someone to solder the wire back on but will i need a new hdd or anything. Thanks for any help.

nah, you don't need a new hd. With the hd formatted it'll give you a hd error. You'll need to format it with either evoX hdd format or slayers (i guess slayers has a format tool, I've never used it) once you get that d0 soldered.

No it wont let me load slayers which it did b4 i formatted. therefore i have no way of getting the dash back on my xbox. i have now ordered a new hdd with ms dash already on it so it should hopefully be ok.
