Jelly Bean confirmed for Asus Transformer tablets Asus has confirmed that it will be bringing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to its Transformer line of tablets.
The Transformer Prime, Transformer (Original) and Transformer Infinity will each get the update in "the coming months."

Asus added that it plans to bring "regular software and firmware updates."

If you happen to own another Asus Android device, for now the company is still "investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices."

Yeah but how long ya think it will take em to reroot it? A few days? I gotta say loving ASUS for this keeping up to date stuff. Hate that Amazon hasn't bothered to update the fire like this. Gotta say my next tablet/PC purchase is looking like it could go ASUS!

HoPfUlly not too long. If it becomes an issue. One of the nice things about the Asus tablets seems to be that they encourage hacking/reverse engineering to a degree. Although you have to waive your warranty right if you want to start putzing around the bios, they do allow you to do so. Which I thought was pretty cool.

So, what I garnered through the forums & chats was that the Asus tablet guys seem to get 'some' forewarned knowledge of what's going on. They still have to figure it all out, but at least they get a start. That's 'my' take, anyway.

I won't go with any other tablet, pretty much for that reason. Any device that I can't root, I simply won't buy.

Right - I just bought this w/Jellybean, and I love it. They do have a dedicated support/forum too. The only minor thing is the battery life is so-so. It has the same features as the Transformer Prime and Transformer Infinity but cheaper (mine is Transformer TF300T)
