    Hi ...
    Great forum.!!

I wanted to see if anyone has any advice.
My camcorder has not been used for some time, and it has been left woth a tape in it.
I've just begun to use it again, and the problem is that I think the head needs some serious cleaning.
I've tried a tape cleaner, but the noise is still there on playback.
I've looked into sending it off to a company to clean it, but they are quoting about 100 pounds.
Is there any way of doing it yourself ?
    Thanks
    Dave

    hi there.
im a professional videographer, using panasonic NV-MX500 3 ccd + 2x NV-GS70 3ccd cameras, and i send them to a pro dealer to clean. costly but if u want the warranty to stay valid, dont try cleaning yourself, its too tricky.
the tape cleaner will do a good job, but if your getting noise on playbak or on the captured file, maybe u should look at something else causing the problem, doesnt sound like its a problem with not cleaning it.
just be careful if u try it yourself ok.

    cheers.....GLEN
