I have been reading the several posts on the topic of transferring VHS tapes on the computer to make into a DVD. It just seemed complex for my level of knowledge to use the freeware programs so I got Pinnacle studio ver 9. ($69 at Besybuy). Anyway, I was wondering if I record tapes on the VCR in SuperVHS, will that improve the quality when I transfer to the compuer. It sounds simple in theory, but I have noticed playback problems when I have recorded in SVHS on my camcorder unless playback is on the device used to record. Also, before I break the seal on Pinnacle, I have a Sony VAIo with Click to DVD. It has Analog input as well as a S video input jack. The ? is what format does Click to DVD convert signals into? DO I get to choose if MPeg or AVI? I have looked on Sony sites with no info. Tried Virtualdub and I get stumped. Last ? is is possible to convert one 6 hour VHS tape onto 1 DVD or is there a program like shrink that compress from the hard disk? Thanks in advance
