I have not attempted any back-ups yet. I research heavily before attempting things like these. I like to have an idea of how the process will work before I go making coasters lol.

??

dude, wtf?

not necessarily...verbatims are made w/ a high quality dye, but don't be so quick to discount other manufactures....I will give you that others are hard on the laser, but as a matter of fact, playing ANY non-pressed disc on any disc player is hard on a laser. That's a risk you gotta be willing to take if you want free....remember, nothing is truly free...you'll pay for it in the looooooooooooooong run.

LOL...hard on.

The problem with Memorex is that they don't make their own media. They use different manufacturers. And half of them make crap. So one month you may get a good pack of Memorex and the next you may get junk. And there's no way to tell until you get them home and check the media id.

Well I ran my iso trough Mulleter, made sure everything looked good. Fired up Imgburn, set the layer break, burned iso at 2.4x on a Verb DL, Pioneer drive auto bitset to -ROM and it plays fine. :D

I think I was digging into it farther than I needed to lol.

true, or it could be that the laser is already failing, due to burned media (verbs or shit media, doesn't matter) or other circumstances.

Don't get me wrong...I'm in total agreement about verbatim...it's all I use as I don't wanna keep shelling out cash for new lasers.

I don't Usenet, it uses me.

hey tripplite....
I bought a xbox360 and I am new in burning games.
Verbatim are very expensive so I don't want to waste money.
My DVD writer is TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S128D (Samsung I guess).
So do I have to change in imgburn and 'change booktype' to SAMSUNG and than in 'DVD+R DL Media' or do I have to leave blank?

I downloaded a game
So i have to go to .dvd and than to burn with imgburn in 2.4x
Game is Region Free and has tick in all boxes (checked with xdvdmulleter)

Hi guys, again thanx for all the help! I decided to bin my old Lite-On DVD writer and treat myself to a £17 Pioneer 112D. Since having this, i've burnt 3 games successfully and had no coasters :-)

I recomend anyone to get the following setup : -

1) Use Imgburn to copy the games
2) Use Verbatim DVD+R Dual Layer Dvds
3) Pioneer 112D Burner

Use the above and in my eyes you cant go far wrong, the Pioneer burner automatically sets the book-type to 'DVD-Rom' so you don't need to be messing around changing book-type etc.

They're for sale on Play.com, don't think I can post links on here.

I'm stuck, I understand that from the 2 files, the .dvd and the .iso, you have to burn the .iso file with CloneCD right? But do you have to use CloneCD? Can you use Nero or something? and do you have to delete Nero if you want to install CloneCD?

I burned the game turok and have tried multiple times to play it on my xbox 360 but it just says
"empty tray" or "unreadable disc." I have extracted the iso from Winrar and when i put the game
with any ss file the light shows up red. Also, the ss merger says it has no video partition.
May someone explain to me what is going on and how to get this game to work?

same suggestion, run mulleter on it and make sure it says ixtreme compatible...however, you didn't really give any details, you have a flashed drive right? what firmware? what media are you using? it helps to provide more info.

ok i ran my iso from a local folder in Mulleter Beta 10. The only things checked off are, "Random padding, xbox 1 iso" and then it tells me there are 69 (wink wink) files in the iso and that the size of the iso is 13805175kb. My gut tells me only having two things checked isnt right, so what can do to fix this up?

load it in mulleter, then goto crc checking and press auto fix.
