swap magic and flip-top...

#1 11 Jul 2004 @ 11:51
I've decided to order the flip-top for my ps2 with the swap magic disks.
Can the swap magic disks cause the ps2 to play all of your ps2 game(original and backup) to play black and white?
and when you are installing the flip-top why do you have to be careful of the one harness/cable?

Just make sure you don't pinch the ribbon when putting the fliptop on. Secondly, (i already answered in your other post) your games will not play in black and white, they will be fine.

is there a for-sure way to make sure you dont pinch the ribbon? I've read that you can tape the ribbon somewhere, but I don'r know.
and another question is , can you play online games with the flip-top and magic swap? do you need to do anything different to the games?

why do you have to install soo many different programs? On that site it keeps saying "do this then install this" cant it all be done with Nero, if not, what programs do you 100% NEED to play back-ups online?
#9 12 Jul 2004 @ 15:11
you need 2 programs.
1. disc id patcher (patches image with dnas id)
2. disc id utility (put in ps2 and gets dnas id off original).

what exactly does the
-disc id utility (put in ps2 and gets dnas id off original).
do?
I mean, explain that whole thing, what do you put in the ps2?
#11 12 Jul 2004 @ 15:25
you burn it to a cd. load it with swap magic. hit eject and put in the original (the one you want to backup and get online with). hit x, and it will give you the dnas id. you then plug that number into the patcher program. it patches your backup iso with the dnas id, then you burn the game.

they have both version cd and dvd. You only need to use it once to get the id off the original (you don't need it to play the game). Just burn it and load it, you will see.

what type of disk do you burn the utility to though?
#15 12 Jul 2004 @ 15:37
well the first one listed is burned to cd. The second one has DVD in its name, so you should be able to assume it should be burned to dvd. it depends on which one you downloaded.

discidutil.zip = cd
DVD disc id utility.zip = dvd

I'd be using the DVD one for my ps2 games right?
#17 12 Jul 2004 @ 15:46
it doesnt matter.
cd version you load with swap magic cd
dvd version you load with swap magic dvd
just pick one, burn it, and load it. You will then understand what it does.
