I suppose we are to guess at what program gave you that error?

    I will guess DVD Decrypter.

This is a known problem for DVD Decrypter and External USB 2.0 drives. Read the Thursday 13th May 2004 and Sunday 18th April 2004 messages.

Possible solution: Since DVD Decrypter can use the built in XP SPTI as well as ASPI and this says the error is when using SPTI, then using ASPI may be a solution.

    ForceASPI 1.7.

    ForceASPI 1.8.

Note: The 1.8 site was not working when I tried it. Seems to have exceeded it's transfer limit.

    DVD Decrypter > Tools > Settings... > I/O > ASPI-WINASPI32.DLL
