I dont know if its installed correctly or what. Maybe I need more software. It's showing up as a "generic dual dvd 4x".

I installed it in my stack, I removed the ribbon that was connected to my zip250 drive(middle connector), and to my dvd-rom drive and hooked up the middle connector on the ribbon to the dvd burner and set it to slave, the dvd-rom is set to master, and both are connected to the secondary ide. Is this correct, or should I switch them?

Im running a 866mgz ppentium 3, 256mb ram dell optiplex. The drive powers up, and "pretended" to burn a dvd, which looks to actually have burned something on it, but the dvd now just freezes up the drives. This dvd came with the burner. The burner is a pacific digital 4x burner.

    What should I do? Thanks!!

You might want to ask this in the right forum. This forum is for stand alone DVD Recorders.
