ethernet card and crossover cable

    so if i have an ethernet card installed into my pc, a crossover cable, and a modchip installed, is that all the hardware i need to be able to connect my xbox to my pc?

    is the mod chip necesary ? I already have a home network setup and want to load up mp3's onto my xbox to play is this possible ?
