TMP Genc, Does it always take so long?

    Hi im converting an avi file which is 91 mins long but i tmp genc shows up as 260 mins,

    Anyway i am converting it using your recomended very best and slow settings, it is taking 80 hours to convert?

    What is going on here? Shall i change the quality?
    Does it normally take this long?

    I have a top a p4 3.0ghz PC,

    How abouts the speed, do you always have to have it on slow and very best quality?

    very best will take a long time (but 80 hours still dont sound right)....try normal or good or something, cant remember the options...also make sure ure direct show mutimedia is priority 2.

    u dont have to use wizard also ,u can just load it in when tmpgenc opens up ...load your file in then select the format and framerate in load tab.

    cant find direct show multimedia anywhere? So it doesnt matter if you lower the quality then?

    Check that thread i gave above bout tmpgenc probs look at prob #1 it in that tells u how to raise directshow multi media priority.

    it affects the quality(not by to much) if u lower quality setting but will save loads of time.

    just try raising directshow multimedia priority to 2....then dont use the wizard, just load file into main tmpgenc page and chose your setting in load tab...see if that reduces the time.
