Firstly i have converted a movie using TMCGenc, only problem is the film has come out as a m2v file whilst i think the audio has come out as a seperate mp2 file. When i try and play the file on my computer i get no sound. Can this still be worked out or do i have to convert again? Amother movie im converting is coming out as 1 mpg file, is this correct? if so how am i supposed to convert this to DVD and using which software? Thanks guys
You've left out a step, thats the problem. After using TMPGenc, you still need to convert the output files you got to a DVD-Video file. Then you should be able to play it on a software dvd player or burn it to DVDR. You should also be able to play the AVI file you started with on something like BSPlayer or another AVI playing software. Its just the files you've ceated at the point where you've seperated the vid and aud output that you'll get no sound. I can't get express 3.0 to create those seperate vid and aud output.
Ive also converted another film and it is working fine and sound is ok. It is a MPG file, how do i burn this to dvd? Please help as i got no idea!!
Ive just authored it using ifo edit and used the seperate audio and video files and yet it still comes out with no sound. What is wrong?
Thats probably something with the compression of the audio. Rather than playing around with it and wasting time, just decompress it outside of TMPGenc. Get VirtualDub. Open VirtualDub and. . . 1. Click Video and select Direct Stream Copy. 2. Click Audio and select Full Processing Mode. 3. Click Audio and then Compression. Select "No compression(PCM)" - Click OK 4. Click File and save AVI. 5. try it with TMPGEnc. If that doesn't work, you might wan't to check if AviFixed or DivFix can find any errors in the audio stream. Make sure you backup your AVI before using either program though. Good Luck. J
vdub can't handle mpeg2. you do left out a step, and that is multiplexing the video and audio into mpeg2 container. m2v is a raw video stream. you can do this in tmpgenc, under file and mpeg tools mux it. if you want itt in dvd format, the container should be in vob, for that look in the guides, since i don't have any experience burning, authoring dvds except in dvdshrink
in laymans terms what do i have to do to correct this? Is the mpeg file useless? Can i burn or do i need to convert it again?
