Hi so I am new into to this DVD backup, so go easy on me.

First sorry about the lost Post but I am a newbie, so don’t know how much info you guys need!

Why I am copying (backing up) DVD?

I am Spending good money on a DVD's and then I keep Losing (easy when you have over 200+ DVD's) them or getting Scratch I had enough and need a backup, so the originals stays safe.

Ok my problem is like to buy new DVD's and that’s were I have the most problems.

I was trying to copy this DVD (so you guys to take a piss of the Title) and i keep getting error when the recording is going.

I have lost more that 5 DVD-R one this film.

But I have backup other DVD's without a problem.

I always get a fail now and this error

There is more of this Log if you need to see it all, let me know.

    Don’t know what to do!

I am the Admin of this PC
    Running WIN XP

I have the full Log if that help.

    What I do is

Backup with DVD Shrink 3.1(latest) and then try Burn with ImgTool(latest).

been reading on this forum and notice the way to Burn under Nero, I have try and get the same problem, I have Nero Start Smart but I use Nero 6.3.

i have as well this DVD4Free running in the background that charges faces when the DVD is Inserted.

I use sometimes RegistryChecker i read somewhere that helps, something about the reg, but I think the problem is on NERO.

I have install and uninstall Nero more times that I can think of, I just had HD formatted and started for the beginning and nothing work, I am sure you guys know the problem ;-)

I use powerDVDXp to run the movie for a while and they make the backup.

If you need anymore info please let me know, i dont know what else to do to make this DVD to run!!!

    Many Thanks for any Help

    ok...

try this - download program called CloneDVD - use that in conjunction with dvd43

take both discs wipe them thoroughly with a clean cloth

then place them in your comp, turn off yur internet - firewall and antivirus, and dont do anything on your computer at all while it is doing its job

open up cloneDVD, and copy the DVD

    hopefully that WILL work

Use DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO image.

with DVD clone i can only clone lowgb dvd's not the 7gb ones.

Use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter for great results.

I backup up nearly all my DVD's on DVD-RW disks.

Managed to find them on sale at a price which is only about 30% more the DVD-R.

That way you can re-use them if you decide you no longer want the copy or the backup doesn't work.

Haven't had many bad disks (three only) and I was able to return them to the retailer for exchange.

Track following error....Your burner is having a difficult time keeping the laser pointed where it ought to be. What kind of media are you using. You say you have burned other discs after burning this one?

Normally if there is something wrong with the source disc, you will get an error during the rip portion of the process.

It kinda sounds like a burner going bad but if you can burn other movies then that might not be the problem.

If there was a problem with the burn programs then you shouldn't be able to burn other movies.

It would be VERY helpful to post a complete burn log. We have lots of room here at AD!

I know the other folks who answered before me think it's a program problem, I'm thinking it may be a media or burner problem. I could be wrong.

That sounds like a media problem to me also. If the hole in a disc is not in the exact center or is not the correct size or not perfectly round you could get a Track following error. It could be a single bad disc or a whole batch.

Did you try a different brand of disc's?
Did you check your burner power connections.
Did you try using a cleaning disc on your burner?

You also need to edit your post to remove your Nero registration number.

    Follow Veblin's advice.

    Fron your log:

    Disc Manufacturer: AN31 -
Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193

This is crap media for DVD recording. Get some Ritek G-04 or Verbatim.

yes, i have unplug them and plug them back incl motherboard.

Did you try using a cleaning disc on your burner?

no, what do you recommend is there a brand better than another or all the same, I don’t really trust cleaning cds or tapes Since once I use one to clean my VHS heads and after 1 week the damm VHS got damage.
