OK guys I was thinking of adding another HDD to my Xbox, and simply just take the DVD-ROM drive out. So my questions are:

    1. Does the Xbox still work afterwards?
    2. Does the Xbox DVD-ROM drive work if I hooked it up with my PC?

Any input is appreciated, thanks ahead.

First of all your xbox wont work without the dvd-drive and secondly why dont you just buy a bigger hard drive? With the right bios you can have a hdd bigger than 137gb. Have you got a chip installed as you will need one to add a bigger hdd.

..and since the new dashboards supports USB devices as a kb, i think/hope USB disk drives will be supported soon.

(if you run Linux on the box you can already do this of course:)

Oh I already have a 250GB HDD in my box and it's running out of space pretty fast. I'm in the process of putting a lot of games on it. Currently I have about 44 games and 97GB left.

I'm definitely looking forward to future dashboards that support USB devices, thanks for the info.

mortenpe - How does this linux work? I saw GentooX on the Slayer's disc and never quite understand how it works, so I didn't install it. If you don't mind and give me a quick tutorial on how to set up a USB HDD using the GentooX, I'd appreciate it.
