I currently have both the latest divx and xvid. Is there a difference between the two? Is it alright if I install both programs? I mean I haven't had any problems. I was wondering what you guys thought...
Thanx for all the help and your time...

divx and xvid are both mpeg-4 codecs to allow u to view those type of files .Its fine to install both and its best u do so as youll prob need both codecs in future.

Also u may also want to have alook at the ac3 filter codec with u may need for audio for certain xvid and divx files.http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ac3filter.cfm

and ffdshow for all mpeg4 decoding.
