windows 7 not seeing ethernet cable

    Hi hope you are all well,
    Someone has just give me a HP Pavilion Slimline but it wont connect to the internet, it says there is no ethernet cable in when there is.Ive looked in device manager and under network adapters there is one driver called NVIDIA nforce 10/100 mbps ethernet.
    My motherboard is a ASUSTek computer INC. Acacia(Socket AM2)model number M2N61-AR and in using windows 7.

    moved to correct forum. try another net cable. try reinstalling the onboard netcard's driver tho i don't think that is the problem. is there a light on the netcard that turns on when the net cable is plugged into it?

    Hi sorry about posting in wrong forum,
    Its a integrated ethernet so theres no light on it,I think it could be faulty going to try getting a card.

    Update or install\re-install ethernet driver
