    This is my 1st post so please bear with me.

    I recently upgraded my CD-RW with a TDK Velco 48x24x48 Burner. I was quite ignorant of what media to purchase, and ended up getting a 50 pack spindle of TDK 40x data disks before I discovered this site.

    What would be the best speed to burn music cd's with this burner, and media, for the best quality?

    Manufacturer= Ritek
    Code= 97m15s17f
    Usage= General
    Recording Layer= Dye Type 7: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
    Recording Speed=NA
    Capacity=79:59.73
    703 MB

    Speed
    Average= 36.96x
    Start= 22.18x
    End= 48.56x
    Type= CAV

    It was stated to me that this is a new product. Is Dye Type 7 something new?

    Thanks,
    Ron

    It is a fairly new product due to it's high speed certificate 40x. If you wan't extra insurance on the burn quality then decrease speed perhaps around 16-24x?
