Im thinkin of purchasing a TRUST 514DX sound card. The reason is I want to connect my PS2 to my 5.1 speaker system but I can only use phono inputs (6 of them go in), since the TRUST 514DX has a TOSlink input i was wondering if i could hook up the ps2 to the sound card and then use the analoggue outputs on the sound card to my sound system (if that makes any sense). I know the ps2 uses DTS so I dont no if that would make a difference.

I have Windows XP Professional as well if that makes any difference and here is the review of the sound card with extra details, i thought u may need a bit more than i explained:

That sounds like a waste of effort and money. Why not buy a new receiver for your stereo system with optical inputs or buy a $20 cable for the ps2 that gives you stereo sound.

you can get a optical to digital coax converter from radio shack. I am assuning you still have coax digital input available on your receiver?
