hi im thinking about buying an xbox then getting an aladdin modchip installed which comes with the linux bios (which ive read cannot do anything but run linux) installed. am i correct in assumming that all i need to do to run backup games and dvds aswell as divx movies is flash to the xecuter 4983 bios (which u can get from the net) if im correct is it hard to do or is it just like flashing a bios for the pc and do u need to install any other software to run things like divx,jpg,mp3. thanks
Yes that xecuter bios will run all game backups and unsigned code. If you want to run your divx and mp3's then you will need to install a new dashboard such as evo-x and xbox media player (get them from the usual places, cant say here cause of legal reasons) and then you can run those. All you need to do is get a bios burn it onto a cd with some files to fill up the space and then pop it into your xbox and follow on screen stuff. Doesnt take long then you will be up and running.
