Ok here it is. I have a Liton LDW-811S and when I baught it over two weeks ago it worked fine when burning DVD movies. All of a sudden 2 days ago it started burning funny. What I mean is this: It will go through the burning process, even finalising the disc. Then when I test the disc out on my dvd player (Panasonic) as i always do. The dvd player says "This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert a different disc". It wont even play back on the 811S and I can see something was burned on it. Now my DVD player plays anything just like a APEX so I've never had problems. Now I'm using Memorex 4x DVD-R and they never fail me either. Infact I have another computer that's running the LDW-812S and I baught that before the 811S and it still hasnt failed me.
(I didnt know the model differences when i baught any of them incase you are wondering). now before i go on; I want to state that i had an Opti write that did the same thing and I just gave it to my friend. So, i figured it would never happen with a Lite-On. Low and behold the problem comes back. it will record Data DVDs juts fine. So i backed up about 40 Gigs of files off my computer and did a fresh windows install (XP) because I thought it was a Virus problem. but NO I tried Easy CD Creator 7 and Nero and both of them did the same thing. So now I'm thinking this is a Hardware problem. I've searched all over the Web to find a Solution but I cant find a person with my problem.
OK, so does anyone have any advice? or should I just return it for another 812S? :)
