Divx converted to guide butno sound

Hi i am new to converting xvid files to dvd format. I followed to guide given by afterdawn and all was going well till i wanted to convert it to dvd. Read a few reviews about ifoedit and sometimes dont work on xp which i have may this be the prob? After tempenc had finished it had made 2 files 1 called m2v and another called i think is a audio file(on properties says windows media file(mpeg)) Played it and theres no sound but exact same length as movie is this the file that shoud be sound if so hope i dont have to go through tempenc again as it took a while. carnt i just extract the audio and put them together on the dvd disk?
