    Hello everybody!

Two days ago I modded my xbox with the xbit mod chip. everything works fine. i used the slayer`s evoX dashboard with the included features on the F partition of the original xbox harddisk. Now I have a few questions ... I hope you can help me ;-)

I tried to connect another hard disk from ibm (30gb, 7200rpm, udma 66) ... unfortunately it didn`t work ... xbox maybe can`t comminuate with the hd. on the screen it was displayed that the xbox need service ...

I thought that any HD till an capazity to 130gb would work ... do I need a special one ??

2: What exactly will happen if I unlock the HD?
On evoX there is displayed that I could not start the normal xbox dashboard. I want to backup movies or games on the hd, copy from there with ftp to my computer and burn it on a dvd.

Are there any Problems after the "lock" and "unlock" process? Can I use my normal xbox.xbe dashboard after this?

3: Did anybody tried the backupfunction of Evo X ? I think a ISO will be created? Or should I work with this program or the application "XFER". It should do the same thing ... I hope so ;-)
    Has anybody experience with this?

    Thanks in advance!

You have to partition and format the drive first. Just plugging in a drive with no software on it will give you, a drive with no software on it. You'll have to create an image your existing drive and then put that on your replacement drive.

    No.

The drive will be unlocked and you can pulg it into a normal PC with pretty much no hassle. Why you really want to unlock it, you don't really say.

The only problems that I can forsee is if you wanted to disable your Mod chip to go on Xbox Live. If your drive is unlocked your Xbox will not boot.

If by xbox.xbe dashboard you really mean the xboxdash.xbe, the default MS dashboard then, yes you certianly can.

I think you're a little confused about the EvoX backup function. The backup function simply creates a directory in the same directory that you have EvoX installed in and creates the following files:

    bios.bin
    disk.bin
    eeprom.bin
    hddinfo.txt
    hddkey.bin

These files contain some system critical information that you can use to do other modifications. I'm not sure why you would want an ISO of your XboX hard drive but the backup function will definately NOT create one.

    You're welcome.
