Its frustrating reading this thread and seeing the problems lads are having getting the boxes to work, if you cant get it sorted get in touch, ill run through it with you, on Msn, or by phone, or someway thats in real time , shouldn't take more than 20 mins to do in all.
Its got to be a dreambox 500C 0r T, on cable or mmds and you got to have dream up software progarm OR flashfxp program.

Hi Guys

A question or two: is the new image Digital Kaos?

I have followed instructions re flashing and everything seems to have gone to plan. Rebooted box and scanned for channels. Went to Tuxbox commander - var - bin but it shows "evocamd212" rather than "hypercam 1.06". Have a feeling flash did not take (pressed "No" to flash erase).

Suggestions anyone?

Tried two boxes - same result.

this is where i am.....i think i flashed it,but when i go to scan i dont find any transporter it said transporter cant be unlocked,i cant find the hypercam 106 thing,i opened var and bin and that stuff but no joy, i flashed using dream up,it said the flash was succsful but i wasnt 100pct confident in what i was doin. if westham is about maby he has an idea u have been great so far,if i get this goin ill even hope utd give u 1pt at upton pk this season

just looking for confirmation that the drembox cant be flashed with just a null modem cable and dreamup and i take it that ill need the crossover cable to ftp files cos for some reason i got the idea that the last image put up had the 3 files included (var,bin,hyper 1.06)but im now been told that ill need to ftp files myself with a cross over .. can someone confirm

All you have to do is upload image using dreamup

Turn on the box

Scan for channels if needed

Wait for 20 seconds on skysports

Change to a few channels and all channels should be back

@westham,Not exactly educational just learning how to make a back up of an already copied image? When I helped you out with the script yesterday I thought you said you like solving things rather than been handed a working fix?

The process of teach and learn here has just been killed. You learned yesterday why the Cam wouldn't initiate and how to fix it. Bet that felt much better than been handed a working script.

Also as I said yesterday some of the uploaded "full" images where not up to much. You have now seen this yourself.

For everyone that wants to learn how to copy the working image there are 100s of posts on how to do just this, most right in this very thread. There are also comprehensive guides in Eamos at the end of my post.

I liked messing about fixing it myself, trying to make this work on dbox was good I had logging enabled and noticed "failed to open device" but couldn't find out the cause, then mgcamd came out and sorted it in less than a minute lol.

It also took me a while to sort the dreambox.

Hope you are still logging the stream info at least Steo. That is always useful ;)
