My Alpine cha-s634 6-disk changer doesn't read high volume MP3's on CD-R's or CD-RW's. I tried 150 to 165 MP3's and the unit seems to try but fails to play MP3 CD's with that volume of MP3's. The manual say it will handle up to 255 MP3's per CD. I found it works if I drop the MP3's down to about 80. I'm using Music Match software to burn the CD's. The 165 song CD's I burned play fine on my Sony MHC-GS200 Mini System. Alpine said to go to version 7.2 of Music Match. I did and have the same problem. Any ideas why this Alpine unit won't play more than 80 MP3's per CD?
I don't know how you do either of those things with Musicmatch. How is that done and what difference does it make? I select songs one at a time from 'My Library' and burn when I reach 650mb or somewhere close to it. I don't choose entire albums at once. I do select the 'shuffle' mode to jumble them up before burning. Jerry
Throw your MusicMatch to the dumbster where it belongs to. Make a CD with any regular burning software (Nero, EasyCD, DiscJuggler - demo versions are at the download section of this site) and divide the for example by album name or artist name. Keep the track count per directory below 80. It seems that your player gets confused when there is enough files in the directory. This might be a workaround.
Thanks for your help. When you say to keep the track count per directory below 80, do you mean keep the mp3 song below 80 per CD or per 'directory'. If per directory, how do you do that?
