Would having 2 different burning softwares...one Nero the other ASHAMPOO cause problems? Conflicts? Please help me. I've been having trouble with burning for the past month or so and still haven't been able to find a solution. At first someone suggested that I try using DVD+RWs in order to prevent wasting discs...now those don't even erase, no one's reply to the thread... Nero still gives me error messages whenever I try to burn something...nothing is working T_T I'm very desperate for help. Could someone please help.
can you provide more infomation, error logs, apps used, file types what you are actually going from and to what? all this sort of thing, what disc types used? system specs!
There wasn't any error log when using DVD Shrink. DVD decrypter worked fine..I was able to rip the content from the DVD and save it to my harddrive. THe only thing is, when I tried to access it via Shrink, the files were nowhere to be seen..in other words, they weren't supported by the software. The file types are VOB files, and the disc that I'm trying to burn them on are Verbatim discs. I'm trying to rip a regular DVD (a korean drama series) My system specs are 80 GB harddrive, 512 MB of Memory, (it's a Toshiba Laptop), WIndows XP Professional. One thing that would be really nice to know is exactly how you are using Nero. The reason I ask is because my Burn Logs always have the initial Nero set up looking like this: Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet :FALSE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : FALSE Allow more than 255 characters in path : FALSE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE Now take a look at yours: Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : FALSE Multisession : TRUE Multisession type: : Start multisession Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet : TRUE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : TRUE Allow more than 255 characters in path : TRUE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE See the difference? I'm most concerned about you having multisession enabled and not finalizing the disc. That is why I would like to know the specific procedure you are using. Are you following any guides?
Nope. All I do is put an empty disc into my drive, open up Nero, click on Create Data DVD, then start burning. Then Nero starts to burn, then gives me an error message. T_T
To me it would not make much sense to burn that much data to your DVD and keep it multisession. The disc is almost full. Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2152095 (478:14.45, 4203MB) Here is Nero's guide for making a data disc: ftp://ftp6.nero.com/Support_doc/PDF-Start/Data/Start-writing-BasicDataDVD.pdf Is this about what you are doing? Not trying to burn a movie? Just movie files?
hi i think we may have crossed wires here? i htought you were trying to copy a dvd film? not make a data disc? so for dvd when you used dvd decrypter did you rip in iso mose or ifo mode or file mode? just rip in iso mode and then load to dvd shrink IT WILL EXCEPT these files i use both apps! go to FILE / OPEN DISC IMAGE or in file mode got to OPEN / OPEN... then either take out what you dont want useing reauthor or hit backup to compress it! then for nero use this! then place all files in the folder nero makes for you caled VIDEO_TS
Selecting Make a Data Data DVD is not going to work. That seems to be where the problem is and Rotary has shown the correct way to use Nero. Please look at the second screenshot and notice the files on the right. These are your video files and have to have similar file extensions. Nero has the option to do simulated burns as well as being able to burn to a hard drive location. You may want to try that first just to make sure the process can be completed. Another option is to load your video into Shrink, selecting the "Enable burning with Nero" option. That way you don't have to open Nero at all. Shrink will do it automatically.
