After 3 years and 3 months I have gotten the Red Rings of Death. I can get the XBOX to turn back on but it wont play a game for more than 2-3 minutes then locks up and freezes and then the rings are back. I have been looking on the Internet for tips and I saw one that will give you the error code. The code I am receiving is 0110 and it seems to also be known as E20. This, according to what I have found, appears to be an issue with the memory of the XBOX. What I can not find, is a fix that I actually understand. I am not a tech guy so I am very afraid to open the XBOX up.
Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Or buy an Xbox 360 with a dead drive off ebay and swap drives. Make sure what drive you have first and try to get one that has the same brand.

its not as simple as that.he has stated that he isnt techinal and just swapping a dvd drive will do nothing.if you cant explain yourself properly dont bother to post you moron.

x clamp fix may work well but dont just heat the cpy and gpu but if you are not really technical take it to be fixed as you will most likely finish it off.
google llama xbox360 rrod guide if you think you could manage but you will need tools and it may just be easier to pay someone to fix or sell on flea bay etc and replace.
    hope this helps

Yea, sure, doing the XClamp fix + reflow + reflux and having your box repaired for a month before it gets redringed again is that much easier than just getting a box with a dead drive and switch the driveboards (or flashing/spoofing with jungleflasher), so you have a fully working box again. Seriously, get your head out of your a$$.

if it was a drive error he would not be getting that error code would he.the error reports to memmory or even gpu not a drive error.
congraulations you managed go get your tongue off the special persons bus window to type a message.this is not a drive issue its a motherboard issue. ;)

also note if your rrod repair only lasts 1 month then you really are doing something very wrong.i've repaired well over 100 consoles for various faults and only ever had 3 fail again within 6 months to a year.i've got machines out there i know are still running from repairs i did over 2 years ago.eisherz your a complete dick.

Yes, and I assumed to get a box with a defective drive off ebay and switch the drives (which means switching the drive boards if it's the same brand or spoofing/flashing if the brand is different). You then claimed this guy isn't very techie, so I should stop being a moron and point towards the (in your oppinion) easier solution of doing an XClamp fix or letting it done (by the way, when letting it done I would have suggested a reballing, not only a reflow because that really is permanent). Getting a box with a defective drive and switch is easier than doing it yourself and cheaper (and maybe even faster) than getting it done by someone who really knows. Congratulations, with that post I quoted above you just showed me that you didn't understand at all what I ment and just jumped to bash me (by the way, not taken personally).

You are buying a console what you don't know any history on and usually in worse condition from my experience so if he is not technical as he. Says. The best and cheapest options are
1 sell the console and replace or

2 take it to a local shop and have it fixed. The drive swap still requires a re flash of the drive and anyone good at repairs will offer a waranty
