I'm thinking of upgrading from my current 4:3 aspect ratio 19" CRT monitor to a 19" widescreen LCD. What are the advantages of a widescreen monitor (if any) over a 4:3 for general web surfing? I don't use my monitor for watching DVDs or video games. Would I be better off with a 4:3 LCD instead of a widescreen? Many thanks for any insight offered! : )

Well the screen will be alot bigger going from a 19" CRT to a 19" LCD because when they measure CRTs they include the plastic around the screen and with LCDs they don't. So with the LCD you will get 19" of screen rather than plasic. Also Widescreen increases productivity because you can run two browsers becide each other. The same goes for other programs like Microsoft Word.
