    Hi all,

I really dont know what is happening at all?

I have had 4 failed attempts at backing up Little Miss Sunshine!

The discs i used were Tevion 16x DVD+R, Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00
Disc Info From-DVD DECRYPTER (bought in Aldi's)

    They were the 8th 7th 6th 5th disc out of 20!

    1st failed burn @ 85% set to 16X
2nd failed burn @ 06% set to 8x (sayin it was an illegal drive?)
    3rd failed burn @ 85% set to 8x

In between this i tried with a DVD+RW (Make: Tevion)OK thats why i went with the 4th attempt?

    4th failed burn @ 85% set to 8x

This is an older version of Nero, try for an update from here, both packages

    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

This is horrible media, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan)

Burning way too fast, slow to 4X

As posted, crappy discs are not the only cause of your failure.

You must get past the encryptions you can't just burn a movie and throw those crappy disc away and go get Verbatim 16x DVDR- for movies and burn at 4x or 8x only

To be a little bit more helpfull and elaborate on what has been said. Download the free 21 day trial of AnyDVD avaialble from slysoft site, update your Nero to the version 6.6.0.18 from links I provided and have AnyDVD running when you insert your original movie that is to be copied. AnyDVD will take care of any copy protection and allow Nero to "back it up"

The 2 packages I suggested have Nero Recode, this is the prog you use to back up your movies.

If you can clarify that anymore-if possible thanks. I have already Nero version 6.6.0.18 bundled, & i downloaded from the links provided to be on the safe side.
Also what is that at the end (_no_yt) Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt. If its a stupid question to ask as i was curious if the end of it meant anything?
I have never used that as it looked a bit technical when i came across it first, So i came across Nero Express 6, but only use it if i've had a failed burn.
This is the version i have Nero Recode2 (2.2.6.1.7) as it was bundled with the rest of Nero's applications,
But i cant see Nero StartSmart anymore on the desktop just the upgrade icon?

This is the process i use DVD FAB DECRYPTER + DVD SHRINK (Enable burning with Nero clicked) & i've not had any problems for a while, until now?

    Cheers born2ride for the link,
as its very easy to understand & on the eyes!

Yeah its always been Fab then shrink, but i've noticed when Nero is disabled, i burn with Nero Express 6 & it gives you the option of saving the file in less than 2-7KB? sounds good for space-saving is it, if anyone uses this idea?

But i must give Recode a try the next time!

Does anyone still know on how i can get Nero StartSmart back on the desktop, as it was a lot easier locating it.

    Thanks!

PS. i was afraid to burn anything else after the failed burns with L.M.S. So i tried on backing up FAWLTY TOWERS SERIES-2, the whole process took about 4h07m! not inc. DVDFab, But i still have L.M.S. on DVD+RW Disc

Yeah i noticed that as the interface is very alike & works twice as quick!

Also today there is a new update today from DVD FAB DECRYPTER with a great looking interface & more detail to it as well, check it out!

Looks like i'll have to ask in another post, but thanks to gwendolin for the links provided as i got Nero MediaHome+Nero PhotoSnap/Viewer from the links as i had the rest bundled!

I'll try and take something from this mishap, bad media/bad copy? im finishin up this media & see if i can get some Verbatim/T.Y. discs.
& watch Little Miss Sunshine again to cheer myself up (if anything happens again-touch wood!!)
