    HI,

I just purchased a HD DVD Player, and Ihave a 46 inch set
with a native resolution of 720p.

I was wondering to get the best picture, should I set my
    HDDVD Player to 720p also.

    Thanks for any Help..

Hey there, if you set the HDDVD Player to 1082i or p the TV will only but the resolution out at 720p anyway because it's the maximum output :) So if I were you, to avoid any unnecessary hassle and possible damage, just set it to 720p anyway, but even if you didn't you wouldn't notice any difference unless you set it lower

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it,
It also says that the Samsung 46 inch DLP has a
    1280 x 720 resolution. Is that consistent
with 720p for best picture off of HD.

Yea, the last 720 bit is what pixels basically can be projected...

So yea, it means the same thing :)
