A few questions before buying a new psp... !!! HELP...

    i'm a noob at psp ....wanting to buy one but then saw so many things u have to do inorder to play iso and cso's?

    1)i was wondering if u can tell which versions of fireware before buying it cuz i won't want to have to opening it and find out u can't play iso ....
    2)does the retail still sale psp with older firmware???
    like futureshop? bestbuy? londondrugs?
    3)do i have to downgrade to 1.5 inorder to play iso or .. any firmware versions can play iso or cso ??

    thx... can't wait till i get my hands on one..

    1. there is a letter on the box that indicates the production run the psp came from, that also affects what firmware they have in it.

    You want a psp that has K or under. check here

    A = 1.50
    B = 1.51
    C = 1.52
    D = 1.52
    E = 1.52
    F = 2.00
    G = 2.01
    H = 2.50
    I = 2.60
    J = 2.70
    K = 2.71
    L = 2.81
    ->

    2. Stores sell psp's according to there stock, they only renew them once they have sold there previous one, so you will have to look around.

    3. you have to downgrade to 1.50 so that you can upgrade to the custom firmwares, they all use the 1.50 as a base when upgrading.
