Let me state my main concern first; I'm on a 56k connection. Basically I'm looking for a file sharing program that would work well for me. I used to use KaZaA, but I stopped when I was hearing about people getting viruses and bugs through it. I'm currently using eMule, but it takes a really long time to get the dowloads to start and once they do, they're not very steady. If anyone has any recommendations on what to use on 56k I'd be glad to hear them. When I download things in a net browser, I never get over around 5.5 Kbps, I don't know if that gives a good idea of my normal speeds. I don't need anything super fast, just something that will give me a constant download speed.

    Thanks all.

well on 56k line, speed should seriously be the least of your concerns, but constant download speed well thats different. You can get a constant d/l speed from irc, I would say Bittorrent but you are using dial-up so you lose it's benefit.

My advice stick with emule until you get a better line.

Im on a 56k line aswell.

On IRC i get 5-6kb/sec and on Ares i get about the same.

So, your best to either use IRC or Ares (which is P2P) to download.

Both great speeds, and a large variety of files.
