a recording problem

hi im using windows 10 64 bits on a dell xps computer..i made cds from lps and 78s..the problem as im recording the records I cant hear the music going in,when usually I CAN hear it going in..after recording I playback the recorded tune and I hear it perfectly though the speakers..and that's the issue..i use audacity
to do the recording though an onkyo receiver..any suggestions?thanks
