a site that tells me what version ps2 i have

    hi, i'm wondering if anybody could send me a site that tells me what version ps2 I have. I know how many screws i have but i don't know exactly what version my ps2 is. either version 4 or version 5 or version 6 etc. thank you in advance

    why dont you just boot the ps2 w/o any disk in it and press triangle then it will tell you the number...

    1000x v1
    2000x v2
    3000x v3
    3400x v4
    3600x v5
    3700x v6
    3900x v7
    4000x v8
    5000x v9 ps2 silver
    5100x v10 ps2 silver
    6500x v10 PSX silver

    any modchip site out there will tell you what version you have... try to search a little bit harder next time
    modchip.ca will tell you...

    another question I have is what version of ps2 won't play dvd-r disks. I heard something about version 9 won't play dvd-r. What about v1-8. will they play dvd-r. can somebody please tell me. thank you in adavance

    As far as i know all PS2 can play DVD-R disk. some of the older ones, i think upto and including V6 can only play DVD-R's, however V7 and later on play all type of DVD media.
