about:blank comes up on IE!

    everytime i got to open Interent explorer i get a blank page and at the top in the blue heading it says about:blank i dont know what it is could anyone help in using Windows Xp and Service Pack 2

    Go into Tools/Internet Options/General Tab/first box at top should say home page then from their type what ever you want in the Address like www.Afterdawn.com
